Lunch With The 90210 Bunch

Over one table from Tiffani sat gorgeous Jamie Walters--who's got such a new look, that if it weren't for his telltale long, lush eyelashes, we almost didn't recognize him. See, at the lunch, he had a buzz haircut, and sragly goatee on his chin. "I did this to myself," Jamie explained, "I cut it off. It's for a film. But for 90210, I wont look this way." Whew! is all we can say--Jamie said more.

Q:What's it like being the new guy on the 90210 set?
Jamie:
It's actually a great feeling. I'm used to doing new shows--like The Heights--where there's a lot of weight on your shoulders. It's nice to ease into a show that's already well-received, to be able to come on and do my own thing.

Q:Do you feel like 90210: The Next Generation? That you're there ton replace cast members who might be leaving?
Jamie:
I don't know. They definitely wanted a breath of fresh air on the show, but I don't know if anyone else is leaving.

Q:How did the cast of 90210 welcome you?
Jamie:
I've known them all for years, so they were cool. It was like, 'Hey, you're finally getting on the show and working with us.' jason and I play hockey together. I knew Luke from our New York days.

Q:Will you be playing Tori's boyfriend?
Jamie:
Yeah, my character, Ray, and hers--Donna--will get involved. He's a guy from the wrong side of the tracks who was brought up in a family that's not exactly perfect. The character may be abusive--verbally and mentally, that is--towards Donna.

Q:So he's a bad guy?
Jamie:
In the beginning yeah, but I think he'll be redeemed; we'll find out that he was abused himself as a kid, and he'll change for the better.

Q:When you were on The Heights, you had a number one song, 'How Do You Talk To An Angel?' Will you be singing on 90210?
Jamie:
Definitely. The only successful part of The Heights was the music, and i think they're interested in making music a bigger part of 90210. Brian, of course, does his music, but mine is more rock.
