Confessions of a Teen Idol: Casting Scoop!

The TV Fanatic has some seriously delish teenybopper scoop for you!
VH1 is about to launch Confessions of a Teen Idol, its newest celebreality series that follows former heartthrobs of the '80s and '90s as they try to reclaim their fame from the past. I am, like, totally dying to see this!
The network has yet to confirm, but my sources tell me the show’s upcoming stars include Eric Nies, who first appeared in the original The Real World and went on to host MTV’s dance show The Grind.
He’ll be joined by Jamie Walters, who appeared as Donna’s abusive boyfriend Ray on Beverly Hills 90210, and Jeremy Jackson, who plunged onto fame as David Hassehoff’s teen son on Baywatch.
But my personal fave is Christopher Atkins, who burst on the scene in the 1980 romance classic The Blue Lagoon. Who could forget his luscious blonde curls, and the then 19-year-old stud wearing, well, nothing at all!
Look for these guys, and the rest of the cast, to try to reclaim the spotlight of teen idol past beginning Jan. 4.

December 19th, 2001

Hey Jamie fans, happy holidays!!! A few things to report. First of all Jamie's latest movie The Mumbo Jumbo has been released in DVD format in the UK. It's in Pal region. I got my copy off ebay, and if you are interested in purchasing it, I found a coupple of websites that are selling it; here are the links:
Electronic Dungeon
DVDs For A Fiver
Here is the back cover:
Zany Pythonesque fantasy comedy jam-packed with some of Britain's finest actors including Brian Blessed, Joss Ackland, John Inman, Nigel Davenport, Brian Murphy, Sylvester McCoy and Richard O'Brien. Also stars American hunky talent Jamie Walters (Beverly Hills 90210) and the captivating Melinda Messenger.
Thomas Doubting (Walters), a young man down on his luck, runs into good fortune when he is given a magic amulet which takes him on a journy to a distant island where all is not what it seems... strangest of all, the locals believe he is the lost legend of the Mumbo Jumbo, who will restore their own fortunes.
This madcap comedy could change your life. It will certainly delight fans of eccentric fantasy adventures in the tradition of Time Bandits and Life of Brian.

In other news it looks like Jamie's new CD is looking at a late February early March release.

September 7th, 2001

We just licensed one of Jamie's ballads called "Catch Me" to the Showtime series Resurrection Blvd. It has been airing this week. Coincidentally, it's the last scene where Luke (played by Jamie's old cohort on 90210 Brian Austin Green) is making up with his Father, then the song continues over end titles. It's a very beautiful and touching scene and the song just kills!
We are going over artwork and the tracks for Jamies (elco's) next record, we are looking at an internet release of January.

June 13th, 2001

Jamie turns 32 today.

Jamie is writing some music for a film as well.

That's all for now, check back soon.

February 27th, 1999

I have once again gotten in contact with elco's manager Joe Fischer who had this to say:

Yeah the band elco. (new name), played to a packed house last Friday night at the Dragonfly. I'm working on a web-site for them, I'll let you know when it's up. The next live show is at Goldfinger's [(323) 962-2913] in LA on Tuesday March 16.

February 24th, 1999

It seems that Jamie and his new band elco. played some of their material last Friday, Feb. 19, 1999; at Dragonfly, a hot L.A. club.

Hopefully this is a sign that their debut album is coming out soon.

January 4th, 1999

I've been told by Joe Fischer (manager of Jamie's new band) the following:

First of all, the band has decided to change their name (yet again) from "Milk" to "elco." to avoid confusion with another L.A. band named "Milk". This means that the band has already changed it's name twice, since their first name was "Moloku Plus". Lets hope that there are no other bands out there named "elco.", since the first two names they've decided to use, had alraedy been taken.

Secondly, the band is going into the studio with the infamous Robb brothers (produced the Lemonheads, Buffalo Tom, etc..) in a few weeks to do some songs.

And lastly, the guys have yet to get the record deal done, but hopefully they will soon.

Lots of good things continuing to happen, I'll keep you updated.

Jamie Walters Attracts High-Powered Fans by Sabrina Kaleta (Aug. 19)

Singer/songwriter and ex-teen heartthrob Jamie Walters is intent on proving that "he's not Ray Pruit anymore," according to representatives for the artist. It seems that he's off to a good start, with recent performances of his band Milk at L.A.'s Viper room and Martini Lounge attracting such notable fans as Counting Crows' Adam Duritz, Party of Five's Scott Wolf, actor Jon Lovitz, and a bevy of major label A&R hounds. The six labels said to be in the running for Walters' talent are Columbia, Reprise, Interscope, MCA, Capitol, and Warner Bros. His new sound, which has been described as "Radiohead meets Matthew Sweet," is a major departure from the lightweight fluff that the singer showcased on his "screaming girls tour" of Europe during his 90210 heyday.

I wanna thank Joe Fischer for telling me about this article, and Rex from Beverly Hills, 90210 Obsessed Fan Sanctuary for getting me it.

June 27, 1998

I've been contacted by Joe Fischer of Leisure Music who is the manager of Jamie's new band.I hear it'll be alot more alternative rock than his old stuff. They are still trying to decide the name it will get. I'll keep you guys posted on any news I get reguarding this.
