I know that not everyone understands the beauty of Maynard, and me explaining it to those who don't know isn't really going to do any good. Not that I really want a nation of Maynard followers, but if you are reading this page then maybe I myself have peaked your interest, which means I may be able to help you see how awesome Maynard really is on your own time (Plus if you get along with me, you might like him anyway). As in YOU take a few minutes out of your life to listen to him, or read about him, or whatever you decide is the best method of discovery. Honestly, in my mind, he is the BEST male vocal in history. I suppose that really says a lot, because I know that a lot of other people look at it that way as well. Without Maynard, there is a lot that I wouldn't know today that I need to know, a lot that I would have never bothered to find out. I mean I'm not saying that I agree with everything the man says, but a lot of things that he's written have gotten me to look other places to find the meaning in his lyrics, and I've learned a lot about myself and my place in the universe because of this. Not a lot of people that I know take the time to understand anything about Maynard or what he's really saying in his music, and that's sad to me. I think that people are missing out on something good. I can't really explain the way I truly feel when it comes to Maynard......I have tried over and over again and people just don't understand the obsession. I know it's not right to obssess over the person and instead of the music, but it's hard not to want to know more about the perspective that his lyrics are coming from. I love the music just as much if not more, but Maynard as a person is behind the lyrics, and that means a lot as well. I think maybe that's one thing that even Maynard himself doesn't understand. That you have to find out more about the person behind the music sometimes to really be able to comprehend where it's coming from. In this case, it's coming from a place of intellegence, a place of beauty, a place of wonder. I guess when you get down to it I don't really care who does or doesn't like Maynard, but I just wish that people would take the time to find out more about him before they put him down. It doesn't make sense not to like someone so profoundly beautiful. If you're dumb enough not to want to find out, I guess that's your problem.

------I think psychedelics play a major part in what we do, but having said that, I feel that if somebody is going to expiriment with those things they really need to educate themselves about them. People just taking chemicals and diving in without having any kind of preparation about what they're about to experience tend to have no frame of reference, so they're missing everything flying by and all these new perspectives. It's just a waste. They reach a little bit of spiritual enlightenment, but they end up going, 'Well, now I need that drug to get back there again.' The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug.

------Todays woman puts on wigs, fake eyelashes, false fingernails, sixteen pounds of assorted make-up/shadows/blushes/creams, living bras, various other pads that would make a linebacker envious, has implants and assorted other surgeries, then complains that she cannot find a "real" man.

------This sort of behavior is left to the psychotic, dogmatic, fundamentalist believers you see on your TV every day letting off bombs and killing people in the name of god. Beliefs are dangerous. Beliefs allow the mind to stop functioning. A non-functioning mind is clinically dead. Believe in nothing.
