I'm from North Alabama. I began modeling in the summer of 2004. It all started when I gave Rich Drinkard a phone call. I had looked for a professional photographer ALL OVER the particular city that I spend the bulk of my time in, and I couldn't seem to find anyone who would shoot what I was looking for. All I wanted was a good head-shot for my family, and all that I could seem to find were photographers who only shot weddings, children, and babies! (Keep in mind that I was NOT doing any kind of modeling at the time.)
I did an internet search on "professional photographers - North Alabama," and GlamourModels was the only site that looked anything like what I was looking for. On that site, I searched further, and Rich was the ONLY photographer who came up! I got his contact info, I gave him a call, and we had lunch shortly there-after.
When I saw Rich's work, I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I felt awkward asking someone who does such beautiful work to take pictures of me (someone who's NOT a model). I was very excited when he agreed to work with me. I went in for the first shoot (which, I must add, was a COMPLETE blast), and I was COMPLETELY ELATED when he ended the session by asking me, "Next week, same time, same place???" You can't begin to imagine just how excited I was!!!
During this first session with Rich, Bob Sykes dropped in. I was even FURTHER elated when HE asked me to work with him, as well!
During my first session, I felt completely at ease with the whole thing. I really didn't know just how "comfortable" I would be. When the shoot was over, I found myself wondering WHERE IN THE WORLD they had been and WHY I hadn't, SOMEHOW, contacted them earlier! I had the best time!
And that's how I got started in this! It actually took several weeks into this before I realized that I was REALLY doing a bit of modeling. I thought these photographers would work with me maybe once or twice and not want to see or hear from me again, but it's been quite the opposite. I've had nothing but good experiences so far, and it's been very therapeutic for me.
Since then, I've worked with several other photographers. See my OMP page for a brief listing of who I've worked with.
