Mansfield and Richland
Next stop Mansfield, population 380... and New Years. This time Jay and I were billeted to a wheat farm. Can't say that it was the most exciting new years ever, but thanks to Jay for making it bearable!!! I still can't believe that at midnight we were the only two awake in the house...watching Jay Leno...hehe ahh the good times.

We beat Mansfield fairly easily, 52-20. I think at one stage the score was 19-11 in our favour so our D stayed pretty good. I still don't think we were used to the smaller balls and courts and the fact that the games are played in 8 minute quarters.

I don't think the locals liked us climbing all over their statue but who cares, we were on a 5 hour bus drive from Mansfield to civilisation...ok at that stage, any place with more than 1000 people was considered civilisation. And boy was Richland civilisation. That's where we experienced our first US mall, it was bloody huge. Probably bigger than the new Chatswood and SO easy to get lost in.

Jess, Lex, Vic & Nomes, watching the Junior Varsity game at Hanford High, Richland. That school's gym was huge, the stands went up two storey's and they had their own cheerleaders. This was also the first time that we met up with 'our boys' since we had left Seattle.

'Our boys', the metro boys team.

Our cheerleader Kirsten, versus the Hanford High cheersquad, I so reckon Kirsten won.
Just had to mention the fact that in Mansfield Nomes and Jess tried to go ice-skating with the covers still on the skates...Sorry guys but I will never get over that!
