The Sophmore team played Lake first, and suffered a close loss against a team that they had previously defeated soundly. JV played well, maintaining at least one one woman on base very inning. Throughout most of the game, we held a slim lead over Lake, 1-0, until in the fifth inning, where Lake suddenly had a rally and scored a huge volley of runs. We were unable to recover and lost the game sourly. The V-squad played what could be considered the best game of the season for them. The game was intense, gut wrenching, and gray hair begetting. Playing excellent defense the entire time, they came up with quite a few amazing plays, including a throw from the outfield that caught a runner at home with the strong persuasion of the catcher Lacy Howard. Offensively, Creek did extremely well, getting quite a few hits and scoring one point early on, then later a second point. Despite Lake's own offensive attack, Creek's V-squad held them, especially in the last few tense innings as Alex Austin came in to relieve Renee Anderson and came up with a few huge plays, such as the catch of a line drive nearly at her head. Both pitchers pitched very well, contributing greatly to the defensive effort, shutting down the Clear Lake Lady Falcons with a final score of 2-0.
