Is this some sort of ball catching thing?

Also, Tina Boutelle, centerfielder from Katy Taylor, was named Player of the Year, the first player in nine years who wasn't a pitcher to be awarded the honor. For a complete article, go Here. But it's boring. There aren't any pictures. ~_~

Wow, it's been quite a while since anything of any interest happened! Or at least big enough for me to remember to write it down. And the news for today is...

Ooops, I've forgotten! Um, later!

Ah, some news for once! It's rather hard for me to make anything during the summer, when so little happens that I know about. *sighs* Ah well.
Today, I got the information for senior pictures! *shudders* The horror! ^o^ I was looking at the front ad, and who did I see but Katy Monaghan! Yes, MVP Katy is now an unwitting model for Heritage Photos! Good wishes to her and Renee in the future, I hope they visit! (you bet they will! ^_^)

Here is the lovely black and white ad, with the red circle around Katy. I think I got a little carried away with the arrows... ~.~

And here is a blow up of Katy, looking all pweety! Sorry for all the lines, the ad came that way! ^_^

And to think, I have to take these photos... *checks the date* ! Eeep! I'll have to dress up... ew!

In the WPSL match-up, the Gold defeated the All-Star team, 14-1, coming back from a double header loss against the All Stars the day before. The highlight of the game was when Lisa Fernandez hit a grand slam home run in the 3rd inning, which went over the 230 foot fence. Danielle Cox, the centerfielder for the All Stars, made a great run for the ball and crashed through the fence, but was unable to get the powerfully hit ball. This could possibly be Fernandez's first Grand Slam. The Gold went on and scored 7 points in that 3rd inning.
The Gold is made up of Olympians from Sydney, including one from China, Cindy Yan Fang. The All Stars include women picked from the WPSL and the two teams are now involved in the Tour of Fastpitch Champions, with the two teams touring around and playing each other, the two National teams, USA Red and USA Blue, made up of promising up-and-coming players from college, and also the Canada national team and the Tennessee and White Sox All Stars. If I sound confused, it's because I am. ^_^
The Tour is meant to continue to bring softball into the public eye as the WPSL will be resurrected in 2002. (YAY!) They hope that the WPSL will be stronger and grow larger, with the help of stronger corporate sponsers. *crosses her fingers*

ALLL RIIIIGHT!!!!! Arizona wins the Women's College World Series with a 1-0 win over UCLA! It was a nail-biter game, and the only score was a homerun by the Arizona catcher, Lindsey Collins. Yeah, I was rooting for them the whole time. ^_~ This brings Arizona to 6 World Series wins, and UCLA remains at 9. I looooooooove softball! (Just in case you didn't know ^_~)

Well, the school year's over. That means no more softball here for a few months. What are you going to do this summer? Are you going to relax? Will you play some ball over this hot hot season as well? Will you have surgery? o_O Well, whatever you do, keep me updated, I like to know what's going on with my teammates when I can't watch over 'em! Everyone have a safe and fun summer, and we'll be seeing each other sooner (or later) than you think!
