The Order of Greetings

The Order of greetings varies from place to place.

In Victoria, the Order of greetings are as follows:

A kajira will first greet her owner, unless she came in with Him, in which case, it is just silly to greet Him. Then she will ask permission to greet others.

If the owner is not there and the slave comes in, the slave will then greet the Ubar and Ubara.

A slave will greet the free male members of the city, preferably in order of rank, highest rank first.

A slave will then greet the male guests of the city. Men are still the dominate ones on the planet, even if there are free women of the city there.

A slave will then greet all free female members of the city, followed by the free female visitors of the city.

If a slave is unsure if a free is male or female, a slave will greet the free as Master until corrected and then will apologize for the mistake if its a female.

After all frees are greeted, a slave will then greet the slave members of Victoria if choosing to greet individually and then the non slave members, or a slave may greet in a blanket general greeting to the slaves.

A slave will not come in and give a general blanket greeting to all in the room, as that is the lazy slave who takes not the time to greet properly. The only exception to this is if there is an event and the slave greets her owner first and the Ubar/Ubara and then a general blanket greeting due to a large list of people being in the room (over 10).
