In The Garden

While sunning in the garden
Between houses made of stone,
I spotted at the window
You standing all alone.
You noticed me quickly!
I hadn't meant to stare,
I kept on pruning roses
Just to seem so unaware.
A tap on my shoulder
As I spun around to see
There in my own ggarden
You had stood watching me.
But that was many years ago
The ground has long since hardened
And I'm still as happy as the day
We met in the Garden.

For You

I like the unspoken intimacy of
our life's dance together;
The quiet stream of life's thoughts and dreams
Flowing, weaving in and out of our days and years,
Hundreds of summers of new-mown grass,
Children growing through their pain and some of ours;
Tears shed...smiles together;
the arduous task
of pulling those threads
through the tapestry of our lives.
