Australia
(Formed 2002)
Standard
HEAD (15 pts.): Large as possible, proportionate
to size of body. Round profile rising sharply with a forward sweep perfectly
round to the back of the head, then merging to the neck and full at the cheeks.
EYE (4 pts.): Bold and centrally placed, iris pearl
white, pupil black and small as possible.
EYE CERE (4 pts.): Small and thread-like. Close
feathered around beak and same colour as beak.
BEAK & SETTING (15 pts.): Close fitting
mandibles wide at base and thick in profile giving a blunt, boxed effect not
coming to a sharp point, both mandibles to be of equal thickness and substance.
Beak set straight so if a line were drawn it would pass through the eye cere at
the bottom of the eye.
WATTLE (4 pts.): Small, neat, fine in texture and
white in colour. Close fitting so as to appear an integral part of the beak
rather than set upon it.
NECK (6 pts.): Broad at base, tapering slightly to
the throat, slightly arched and of medium size.
BODY (7 pts.): Short, cobby and wedged shaped of
medium size. Chest broad, deep and well-rounded carried forward. Appearance is
one of cobbiness with well-rounded contours.
FLIGHTS & TAIL (10 pts.): Flights tightly
folded, broad and short coverts closing neatly over the rump. Tail short,
tightly folded and slightly tapering, allowing the flights to meet ½" from
end of tail. There should be 12 main tail feathers.
FEATHER QUALITY (8 pts.): Fine, smooth and soft
with good breadth. Profuse and reasonably loose on head and neck to give
fullness, becoming closer and tighter fitting on body, wings and tail.
LEGS & FEET (5 pts.): Legs set well apart and
of medium length. Feet small, shanks and feet free of feathers, and a bright
coral red.
CARRIAGE (8 pts.): Sprightly, upright, bold and
jaunty. Eye carried directly over the ball of the foot. Beak held so that a line
drawn between the mandibles would be horizontal to the floor.
SIZE (4 pts.): A medium size bird which stands 9 to
10 inches tall. Proportion and balance is utmost importance.
COLOUR (10 pts.):
DISQUALIFICATIONS:
BALDHEAD
The Baldhead variety of LFCL Tumblers has identical descriptions of
breed characteristics as found in the barred and self portion of the standard.
However, the point breakdown differs as listed below. Additionally, there are 20
points awarded for the baldhead marking, which is described below.
BALD (20 pts.): Head white, with a line of
separation around the neck running in a clean and unbroken line 1/8" to
3/16" below eye and beak, rising with a gradual curve to back of skull. The
10 outer flights on both sides to be white, as also should the tail and under
parts of the body. Beak is to be flesh colour.
MUFFS (15 pts.): Profuse, the outer
edge forming a half circle and meeting the hocks without a break. Five to six
inches to be the desired length. Grouse legs to be passed by judge.
HOCKS (5 pts.): Profusely feathered
points just clearing the ground.
