Even before his Jordan days, Damon had been a regular feature at the annual
Silverstone Jordan GP Party where he played guitar alongside Eddie Jordan on the drums.
Damon's love for music went back to his childhood when he was part of a punk band
called "Sex Hitler and the Hormones". Since then he has enjoyed many jamming
sessions with his good friend and ex-Beatle George Harrison and has played several
times on TV. Appearances include a classical guitar session on Eurosport's F1 Magazine
programme back in 1996 and more recently as part of an all-star band for the
1999 TFI Friday Red Nose Day / Comic Relief charity broadcast.
Damon, like his father, mixed well with many celebrities. It was then with surprise rather than shock that it was revealed Damon had recorded a track with rock legends Def Leppard on their Euphoria album:
Def Leppard have recruited erstwhile Formula One world champion Damon Hill to play guitar on their forthcoming album 'Euphoria'. Hill appears on opening track 'Demolition Man'.
"We kept running into Damon at parties," explains singer Joe Elliott, "and he was always talking about his playing - so we set him a challenge. The song's up-tempo and he plays this real rock solo at the end."
This is one side of Damon Hill that isn't always seen at the race-track. It may well
be this fun-loving but fair approach to life and racing that has endeared Damon
to so many fans. Who for example could forget his classic Pizza Hut commercial
with Murray Walker?
This was not Damon's first comedy sketch, however. His first appearance was on
Harry Enfield in his early Williams days and more recently he was a guest on
Bang, Bang, it's Reeves and Mortimer.
Damon - again like Graham - has also been honoured on the This is Your Life
programme. However, the most significant event in Damon's TV career was landing his
own TV show.
Airing on Channel 5, Damon Hill's Wild and Whacky Races featured coverage of extreme
and bizarre forms of motor sports. These were mixed with surreal sketches by Damon,
demonstrating his wonderfully dry sense of humour. In November 1999 Damon
released a video containing some of the best bits from the series.

Not only a worthy and successful Formula 1 World Champion, Damon has also
proven to be a true star and entertainer, both on and off the track.
