The Legendary Mercenary and former FOX-HOUND member, now retired, who brought down one of the greatest known soldiers ever. He has been called out of retirement to infiltrate Shadow Moses Island, the testing site of a new nuclear weapon and the target of an armed insurrection. As usual, Snake heads into this mission alone, instructed by his CO, Colonel Roy Campbell.

Real Name: Roy Campbell
Age: 60s
Former Commander-In-Chief of FOX-HOUND, Colonel Campbell has been brought out of retirement to act as Snake's CO, knowing he is the only one who can contact Solid Snake. His reasons for participating in the mission go beyond that, however. His niece, Meryl, has been taken hostage by the insurgent FOX-HOUND squad, and is hoping Snake will be able to rescue her.


Name: Dr. Naomi Hunter
Age: 25
Dr. Hunter works as FOX-HOUND's medical chief. She is involved in this mission since she knows the terrorists better than anyone else. However, there is more to her than meets the eye.


Name: Mei Ling
Age: 19
A young graduate of MIT, Mei Ling is the data and visual processing specialist assigned to the Mission Control Team. She designed Snake's Soliton Radar System and his Codec communication device. She likes to provide Snake with proverbs to help motivate him during this difficult mission.


Name: Nastasha Romanenko
Age: 34
A Nuclear Specialist called in for Shadow Moses, Nastasha is the number one expert on nukes. Formally a member of the DIA, Defense Intelligence Agency, she is also a weapon specialist, ready to help Snake whenever he needs it.
