Abstract: In learning and teaching  activities, the teachers generally have taught plant structure based much on the theoretical concept. As a consequence, the students’ learning achievement is unsatisfactory. This research is aimed at improving the students’ understanding on the concept of plant structures by using a meaningful learning approach. The steps of the research are as follows: planning, execution of action, observation, and reflection. This research contains two circles and each of them is carried out through two actions. Having finished each circle, the researchers carry out reflection to know its impact of the action. The research result shows that the learning and teaching through the above approach can increase the students’ achievement. That is to say that the average achievement of the circle 1 is 71,41 and that of the circle 2 is 96,22, and therefore the mastery learning on the subject can either individually or classically achieved.
