DAN HAK TENAGA KERJA PEREMPUAN DALAM USAHA INDUSTRI DI KALIMANTAN SELATAN

Abstact: The purpose of the research is to get a clear description of the education back ground; access and control of women workers in plywood industries in South Kalimantan. The sample of location and respondents are taken using stratified random sampling technique. Data are collected through in-depth interview, guided interview, and observation/documentation from related departments. The result shows a gender gap between men and women workers in education background, and access and control of working status though both work for the same working hours.The affirmation of women workers that education background is not related to their role and status as workers. The findings show that the industries provide access and control to the women workers, by the book, to decide whether they work or not.In reality, they choose to work for since their salary will be cut for not working and the salary is paid at the lowest standard. This, gradually, will affect the working productivity.It means that women workers are seen as the object of development, while they should be seen as the subject and also those who take benefit of the development.
