PELAKSANAAN REMIDIAL PELAJARAN BIOLOGI DI SLTPN SE-KOTA BANJARMASIN Sri Amintarti Abstract : Remedial teaching is one of the guiding service programs conducted by a teacher in the effort to reach a mastery learning. This research is aimed at exploring (1) whether the remedial teaching on Biology subject has been done in all SLTPNs in Banjarmasin, and (2) how it has been implemented and, (3) how the result is. The method used in this research is a descriptive one. The population of the research are all the government’s teachers of 34 SLTPNs in Banjarmasin; whereas the samples are 51 teachers taken from 26 schools . The results of this research shows that (1) most Biology teachers of SLTPNs in Banjarmasin have conducted the remedial teaching to improve the students’ learning achievement,(2) the implementation of the remedial teaching is outside of class hours, using methods of giving assignments, discussion, and question and answer. The program can improve the students’ learning achievement.
