BEBERAPA KETERAMPILAN VOKASIONAL

BAGI SISWA SMA DI KOTA PALU DAN KABUPATEN DONGGALA SULAWESI TENGAH

Abstract: This research is meant to explore (1) some factors influencing problems the graduates of Senior High School not to continue their study to college,(2) various vocational skills matching with requirement of work, local  potency, and student’s enthusiasm.  The subject in this research are the students in Palu and Donggala at Sulawesi Tengah. Methods are used to reach the goals through FGD, questionnaire, and interview. Result of research indicates that (a) the graduates do not continue their study are caused by (1) economic factors, (2) low academic achievement, (3) having work, and (4) failure in college entrance test. eliminated in incoming test to college, and (b) Sulawesi Tengah is rich of natural resource specially agriculture and plantation, so that vocational skill in processing of the products representing the local potency should be given; some alternatives are computer and technology, tourism and processing of marine product.
