MELALUI  PENDEKATAN PROBLEM POSING

Abstract: This research is aimed at (1) knowing the students’ ability of problem posing in the subject of Basic Chemistry, academic year 2004/2005, (2) increasing the students’ learning achievement in the subject through problem posing approach, (3) knowing the students’ response to the implementation of problem posing approach in the lecturing of Basic Chemistry. This research is class room action research with 2 cycles. The subjects are the students taking the subject; they are 62 students. The technique used is participative observation, competence test of problem posing and learning achievement test. The result shows that (1) most students have problem posing competence and most test items are made according to the given task situation, and (2) problem posing approach can increase the students’ learning achievement in the subject, namely: 54,4 % to 74,5 %, and  (3) the students give positive response to the approach.
