SEBAGAI UPAYA PERBAIKAN MUTU PENDIDIKAN
ERA OTONOMI DAERAH

Abstract: Substantially education is an effort to make young generation of men into human beings or  empower their potencies in order to become qualified men. The reformation era has resulted in a change in educational paradigm to which we are necessary to pay attention. The change in educational paradigm came into being because of (a) different situation and demand of times, (b) changes of intellectual thinking and state political situation. The classical educational paradigm must be changed into the modern one. Education is not only handled by teachers at schools but it must be supported by families and communities. Values that must be found and reached in education have also changed from original score/title-oriented to quality-oriented, and from cognitive emphasis to holistic and democratic one.
