JAGUAR XKE Roadster Serie 1 4.2L
This E-Type 1966 Jaguar has
been extensively and meticulously restored to a very high standard.
Ground-up restoration. Everything new, nuts and bolts. Dream condition.
San Diego, California.
This Jaguar is a 1966 E-Type roadster Serie1 4.2L, fully restored. The engine is the 4.2 liter twin-overhead with the 3 SU carburetors matched to the four-speed manual transmission. The exterior is Jaguar Regency red and the interior light tan. The car is in perfect condition.
The Jaguar received a complete ground-up restoration in 1999. After body/frame sandblasting and bodywork (not an ounce of rust nor bondo), the car has been painted with the gorgeous Jaguar Regency red.
Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition: engine rebuilt, carburetors rebuilt, new clutch, all new bushings, new shocks absorbers, all new brakes (calipers, servo, pipes..), new clutch, new radiator core, new exhaust… Transmission and final drive have been checked and are in perfect condition.
Wiring harnesses are all new and all electrical instruments and gauges are working. Cosmetics have been taken care of with re-chrome of bumpers, front headlight chrome, door upper chromes…. The interior is new with light tan leather and vinyl, and has a CD player instead of the original radio. The top is Everflex black. The car has new Dunlop wire wheels and new redline Michelin tyres. The title is clean and chassis/body numbers are matching (Jaguar certificate).
The Jaguar has now 4000 miles since its overall restoration. It drives as well as it looks, is very fast and powerful. It doesn't overheat. It has always been garaged, has never been driven in non clement weather and runs like a dream. It is ready to go or show, with many spare parts and a complete book with all receipts of the work done.
This jaguar is a very very nice driver, in excellent condition, and to be driven almost daily as I do. I don't pretend to have a show-room condition. I have no record for that and it's not my way of thinking restoration: a classic car restored as this one is not to be admired in a living room but to be driven.
This Jaguar has been sold to a British sportscars lover as me and has now left California for a new life in Connecticut
