ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Music Theater Research Project is a presentation of the Music Theatre (MT) Program at The Catholic University of America's Benjamin T. Rome School of Music. The Project was founded by Ellwood Annaheim of the MT faculty in 1996, and was developed to heighten research in the performing arts through public performances of landmark musical comedies and operettas from America's past. To this end, the MT program presents important musical theater works that are rarely performed today. MT students involved in the Project study the history and performance practices of America's music theater past through the Project's strong emphasis on music, research, and style.
