So this is my disgruntling incident...
I was, by chance, in London on December 28th, 1997. I had been looking forward to seeing
the new dramatisation of the Winterreise on Channel 4 since August, when I first read about it.
I was just lounging about in my hotel room, semi-dozing while not-quite-watching EastEnders,
a British soap. I decided to go on a bit of a channel-surf when I hit Channel 4 and saw an
all-too-familiar face and some very bleak ending credits. I dashed out to grab a newspaper
for the TV listings, and sure enough, it was what I feared it was - that special I'd been
wanting to see! Worse yet, I also managed to miss the documentary they showed a few hours
later about the making of the special. So: if anyone knows where I can fins this on video,
let me know!
