Here's a PUZZLE Poem I wrote one Saturday evening this year.
See if you can understand what it means (hope it makes sense too!.. hee hee):
27th June 1998
'Mr' uns came dn at the punos of dawn.
Jill's uos, Jack, ate pnds, beans from spod,
sunq, dos and dnos uodn waking.
However, his spuoq, qns, salary and
unquestionably, his snuoq, were out.
He was punoq to booze.
Each day, Jill weeps for Jack insuppressibly.
"That pos, that qous!" she sqos as she spou her head.
But Jack callously sqnus her wailing snudo
and shrugs his snuo.
'Can I opun what is done?'
'Can I unspin what I unds?'
A snq to the hub,
a punod in the qud
and sou of unp tipples
sonp and trios
for him to choose.
What's the qnu of the story¿
Nothing really.. just playing with words,
or what we could call a und.
Written with the help of the Franklin Wordmaster.
To help decipher the story, here's a clue..
Here's one I wrote while I was in Primary 5.
ok.. so, I was a little bored :þ
(eg. pond = puod in the story.)
Then, during one time, I was really inspired to write rhyming poems. This was after reading this library book I borrowed. Written by Jack Prelutsky and illustrated by Yossi Abolafia, this book was a short collection of funny poems about Valentine.
SUPPER!
It is late at night,
I want to have a bite,
to fill my stomach full,
With food I'll like to chew.
Maybe cheese or jam on bread,
or maybe even marmalade.
With tea so hot and nice,
Or lemonade with ice,
Or better still,
A lovely ice-cream float,
That will quench my thirsty throat.
I have to go right now,
To stop my stomach growls.
So off I march to the dining room,
With a fork and spoon.
