TIM

Years ago someone noticed the conceptual similarity between the Prodigal Sorcerer and Tim the Enchanter ("Some men call me... Tim?") from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The name stuck, and has become perhaps the most affectionate reference to a Magic card. I've always loved Tim; one point of direct damage per turn ain't too shabby, but combined with cards like Instill Energy his power becomes awesome. I've built countless decks around that basic concept, and I never get tired of them. And with new cards like Venomous Fangs coming out, the possibilities just keep getting richer. So if you haven't gotten to know Tim (and his relatives Zuran Spellcaster, Pirate Ship, Suq'ata Firewalker, Mawcor, and Rootwater Hunter), do so. He's a fun guy, even though he does give a rather extravagant performance.
