Jim's NOTE: Using "Babelfish" translator program
will allow you to visit, understand and enjoy all
those fine web pages written in German, French,
Italian, Portugues and Spanish; in the futur more
languages will be added. This is a good deal both
ways, those without an understanding of English
will be able to drag or load American URL's into
Babelfish and have almost an instant conversion
into English, German, French, Italian, Portugues
and/or Spanish. Babelfish also works with those
foreign language email messages we all receive
and allows an answer to them in their language.
Tell them first that you are using the Babelfish
online translation program. I also found out the
hard way that American slang _does_not_ translate
very well at all. There is a 5 kilobyte per text
size limit using the free courtesy demo; those
long letters can be translated by dividing and
processing in 5kb chunks. Please remember that
this is server side processing and privacy is not
secure. If privacy is an issue, Altavista has a
client side commercial version to sell:

The origin of the BBC's Babelfish, history link: "Babelfish" is the universal translation device
used in the BBC's famous Radio and TV
program "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy",
as seen on almost all PBS stations in USA.
!@%$#*&!@^%*#@%!

For a different approach to
the translation problem;
try "Babylon Translator"
a twelve ( 12 ) language
client side program which
will translate on-screen
words one at a time. Also
visit the "Babylon web site".
