Gorbiel 1.0

Gorbiel 1.0 (G 1.0) is a simple language. It's a research and development language. It is not meant to be a language used by too many people although it can be read, written, spoken by humans. The goal of G 1.0 is to comply with level 1..7 principals of artificial language development.

The word endings are the same as Esperanto. Zamenhof, the creator of Esperanto, an international language wanna-be, had some good ideas that Gorbiel 1.0 adopts. Adjectives end in the letter "a". Adverbs end in the letter "e". Verbs (or rather transitions) end in the letter "i". Nouns end in the letter "o". The letter "u" as a word ending indicates a connective.

There are two types of grammar in the world. Grammar can be based on word order. Grammar can be based on word prefixes and suffixes.

English tends to be a language in which word endings do not play as important a role as word order. For example the two sentences below use the same words with no difference in endings but a big difference exists in meaning.

The boy hit the car.

The car hit the boy.

Spanish and Slavic languages tend to use word prefixes and suffixes to determine grammar. For example the two sentences below in Polish use word endings to repeat the same two sentences found in the above example.

Chlopiec uderzyl samochod.

Chlopca uderzyl samochod.

Gorbiel 1.0 grammar depends entirely on word suffixes and endings and in no way depends on word order. It relies on the 5 vowel endings much more than Esperanto because all words end in a vowel. As a result some features which may be built into endings in Esperanto are separate stand alone words in Gorbiel 1.0. For example below is a sentence which indicates plural. "United States-a plural-a human-o", aka "We the people of the United States". The word viga is a word that indicates plural. Since it begins with the letter "v" it is used for grammar and because it ends in the letter "a" makes it an adjective. In G 1.0 plurality is an adjective.

lecaba viga sedo

Verbs do not exist in G 1.0. Instead words that start with the letter "p" represent a transition. Transitions have two components, from and to. Transitions describe the physical transition that takes place when a verb is enacted. There is a direct relationship between the physical and spiritual aspects of the real world and Gorbiel 1.0. An example of a physical transition would be "to run". The word "to run" is a transition from food/ATP to kinetic energy of a person or a change in distance for a human or animal body over a change in time. An example of a spiritual transition would be "to hold" as in "to hold these truths to be self evident". The word "to hold" in this case is a transition from a state of "we the people" being unattached to certain truths (a variable) to being attached to those truths.
