Most of the volunteers are working with the EVS to learn a new language in a practical way and to find out about another country and its culture by living there. Another reason is that volunteers want new experinces. They want to stop their studies for a period of time and learn or do something different. In other cases they do not want to start working so young. Another reason is to leave their country and to learn on their own how to cope with every-day life and to get more self-confidence. In other cases they want to give something to the community and to have an experience at human level. In general all the volunteers are open-minded young people who want to meet new people and make new friends.
