Stuff that can go WRONG:

A particular spore can cause the disease botulism.  It binds with neurons that synapse with muscle cells and inhibits their function.  Death can follow, DEATH, in ten days.

Multiple sclerosis causes the myelin sheaths around axons in the spinal cord to degenerate.  As a result, the ability to control movement of the skeletal muscles is slowly lost.

Epilepsy is a disorder in which millions of interneurons in the brain become abnormally active.  This causes epileptic seizures.

The tetanus bacteria blocks the release of inhibitory neurotransmitters.  Due to this, muscles can become overstimulated and go into spasm.  They may become paralyzed and, if that happens, death follows.  DEATH.
