Since young, I've been brought up in an extremely strict family. That accounts for some kind of principles (well you may call it old-fashioned way of thinking if you must) which I abide by. For example, I don't go pubbing and chionging at Zouk, Venom, Sparks or Mdm Wong.....unless I'm with great company! And yes because of this, I've been labelled as a "boring girl with a boring life"....but who cares! As long as I know that I'm enjoying MY life....that's all that matters anyway right? :) I've got a number of GREAT friends to whom I've dedicated a page within my homepage for them....You can see that while some of them are frequent "havoc-ers"....others have never even stepped into a pub or disco in their entire life before. The most important thing is that they all have accepted me as the way I am. And I'm indeed grateful and thankful for their friendship.
Well enough of crap! Let me tell you more about my school days. Those are the days where true friends just come into my life one by one.....
1990 - 1993 :
Secondary school life was the time I would never forget! Imagine everybody was so innocent and we all knew and talked about nothing except books! What are guys? *shrug shoulders* I guess to us then, guys were just the "XY-chromosone" species which don't exist in our school at all! Look at the change man....tsk tsk tsk..... hehhee.....guess we all have grown up now huh?
The Rafflesian Spirit! Yes! That's the best part of my Secondary School life.....I guess by now you should have known which school I was from? *drumroll...* Yup! Raffles Girls’ School! In fact, I had always preferred an all-girls school to a mixed school. The reason.....hmm.....perhaps ‘coz there were no "distractions" there? *wink* And yes, before I forget, if you’ve got the impression that RGS girls are darn arrogant, I can tell you.....NOPE NOPE NOPE!!!......or at least my group of friends and I are definitely not! :) Boy am I glad that I’m still keeping in touch with a few of them.
Jan - Mar 1994 :
As you should have expected, more than 75% of my RGS class proceeded onto Raffles Junior College. But for me, I had chosen to go to Victoria Junior College instead. Reason? Maybe it’s just because I wanna get to know more friends? Anyway, the 3 months which I spent with my ex-class of 94S28 was truly enjoyable! In fact, I had never ever regretted going to VJC 'coz I got to know a couple of good friends (especially my "gor") there. Though our Civics Tutor, Miss Ngin, had already transferred to another JC, the class (including her) still meet up once in a while in a dinner outing or karaoke outing just to catch up with one another's life. And I'm really glad that the class still regard me as a part of them even though I transferred to another JC after the first 3 months.
Apr 1994 - 1995 :
The above picture was taken on Valentine's Day when we were all in our second year (1997). And yes, it's an all-girls outing! :)
Right now, I am in my final year in Accountancy in the Nanyang Technological University. During my first year in NTU, I had spent so much of time IRCing and VAXing such that I had neglected my schoolwork. So right now I’ve decided to cut down on my IRC time and focus more on my studies instead! Isn’t that good? :)
Basically, as most of my friends will describe me, I'm someone who smiles a lot and appear to be a happy-go-lucky kind of person. Well....as to whether in fact this is true, you'll have to get to know me better and judge for yourself then! :)
Now, you all should see how upset
I was when I had to transfer over to National Junior College.......But then again, since it is already in the past, why think about the unhappy things? Speaking about NJC, that was where I started skipping lessons, feigning MCs, gossiping in the library, canteen or at Serene Center’s MacDonalds after school.....etc. My clique of girlfriends (what I call "chabors") were the most fun-loving lot that I’ve ever met! And I really miss the times we spent together...... gossiping about the "phantom", "rabbit", "bian tai", and the "chicken-man".....Although I’m the only one out of the clique of 5 which proceeded onto NTU (the rest are in NUS now), the 5 of us try to make it a point to meet up once a fortnight for lunch to do some catching up with one another. Fortunately most of us will be graduating in a few months' time. Then we'll be able to meet up and gossip as often as we want!
