A summer's day walk in the woods with Marco and Mina. These two dogs, which survived Elgar and are now buried in the garden of the Elgar Birthplace Museum, were even given places at the table on each side of Elgar.
The critic Ernest Newman described them as "Noble Marco and funny little wistful Mina." Significantly, Elgar's last published orchestral work is a sad, haunting, piece called Mina.
