Presenting: Jonathan Plowright, Concert Pianist

Welcome

For those who would like to listen to some RealAudio while visiting
Vienna Online, we present
CL Florian's "Classical Surfing Music."
This is a showcase of broad talent.

Our featured artist for this month is Jonathan Plowright, from London, United Kingdom. He is not only a concert pianist who travels the world from South Africa to Saudi Arabia for more than 15 years, but also an associate professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Listen to Ballade in A-flat (Chopin) from one of Jonathan's commercial CDs.
Jonathan Plowright, Concert PianistOn his nice homepage you can hear many more sound clips, find the voices of the press, and view Jonathan's concerto repertoire.

I admire this man, who doesn't just take advantage of his talent to delight audiences with his varied musical interpretations, but also gives master classes to help many other musicians understand the boundless wonderland of professional pianistic development.

Being a concert pianist alone takes a special sense of perfectionism that can only be achieved and maintained through constant practice. I never had that persistance myself, so I settled for branching out into many other musical fields, which brought me good success, but I will always look in amazement upon that special breed that is called a concert pianist.

Jonathan just returned from a two-week tour to South Africa and was kind enough to give me some personal impressions: "I was fortunate enough to be able to perform in the Opera House in Port Elizabeth and contribute in a small way towards the survival of the Opera House, which hopefully will help to ensure the future of classical music in South Africa, which is seriously under threat from lack of funding. This was my fourth visit to South Africa and as usual the audiences were warm and appreciative - the countryside beautiful and the wine stunning! A wonderful place to play."

Would you like to submit your musical talents as "Classical Surfing Music"? This is not a contest—every reasonable offer accepted ;o) If you are a composer, conductor, vocalist, instrumentalist, make music with a group or alone, amateur or professional, here is your chance for extra exposure!
Simply email Florian for any questions or with the URL of your file, and he'll take it from there.
