What is the Suzuki Technique?

"Where love is deep, much can be accomplished."

This is the Suzuki Technique's guiding philosophy. All children are born with the ability to play musical instruments. When this ability is lovingly nurtured from an early age, the musical development may exceed even the proudest parent’s expectations.

The Suzuki approach seeks to develop the whole child, to help unfold his or her natural potential to learn and become a compassionate, good and happy adult.

Above all…this learning must be fun!

What are the Benefits?

Since Suzuki children thrive in a total environment of support, the benefits affect their entire lifestyle. They develop confidence, poise, self-esteem, concentration skills and the determination to try difficult things. They also develop a lasting enjoyment of music and the sensitivity and skills for making music.

While not all Suzuki children become professional musicians, all of them acquire these valuable skills to help them throughout their lives

 About the Class Structure:

All students participate in both private and ensemble instruction.

During the private instruction, the student gets personal attention from both the teacher and the parent. It is one of the main ingredients in the Suzuki Method for the parent to attend and participate in the lessons. By doing this, the parent can then spend quality time at home helping their child to learn the instrument.

Ensembles give students a time to socialize, work with, and learn from their peers. These group lessons become valuable motivational aids. As many parents know, children love to do what they see other children do.
