This short story is specially for people who are having trouble getting down to doing their daily Quiet Time (QT). =)

The Drawing Room

"What a beautiful place this is!
I will meet you here every morning before you go to school,"
the Lord exclaimed.
I was so excited that the Lord liked my drawing room
and that He wanted to meet me there.
"Yes Lord, I will definitely be here in the morning - 6 o'clock sharp!"

The next morning, I woke up earlier than usual.
I entered the drawing room at 6 o'clock and
thought I was early but then, the Lord was earlier.
He gave me a smile and
then reached His hand out for the Bible.
He flipped the pages and taught me how to read and
understand His Word.

For many weeks, I spent at least an hour
reading the Bible with the Lord.
When my school examination came,
I spent lesser and lesser time.
Very soon, I stopped going to the drawing room in the morning.
I was simply too busy to meet the Lord.

One day, as I rushed down the stairs to school,
I heard a sound coming from the drawing room.
Out of curiousity, I pushed the door open and
was shocked to see the Lord there.
"Why are You here, Lord?...I won't be coming any more,
why don't You just go and meet someone else,
I am too busy in school."

The Lord looked up from where He sat and said
"John, I've been here the past few months
although I knew you were not coming anymore.
Well, didn't I tell you that I'll meet you here every morning?"
I saw tears welling up in the Lord's eyes as He continued,
"John, you've always thought that you are the one who suffers
when you do not spent time with Me.
But, have you thought of how I suffer when I do not meet you?"

I quickly fell on my knees and asked for the Lord's forgiveness.
In not keeping my appointment,
I had hurt the Lord.
