Now at Oxford...
Well this is where I am now, Christ Church college, Oxford. In the picture on your left you can see Tom Tower ( and yes the name is one of the reasons I chose the college - I'm that shallow) in Tom Quad, the largest of the four main Quads in ChristChurch.
Life gets REALLY hectic around here. Ok so I'ma music student, I have few lectures compared to a Medic or a Lawyer...sure. But I still have to sing for fifteen hours a week on top of my work, which can make things a bit of a struggle. But I'm surviving. I've only been here for a term ( at the time of writing) but life is good. Obviously being a student I'm spending too much money and drinking too much, but that is really part of the life. Overall the people are great. There are refreshingly few pretentious people. I was worried that when I came here, I would be surrounded by a load of lords and ladies, but it's not really like that. Just a few people let down the side.
Facilites are great. My room at the moment has a ensuite bathroom, ethernet connection, is quite big and overlooks Christ Church meadows.The only problem is the cows....
On the picture in the left you can just about see Mercury, which is the name of the pond in the middle of Tom Quad.
This has been the target of many a drunken escapade, and you can get fined ( yes, the Oxford system hits students where it hurts) for jumping in or "causing another person to be in" there. Mad.
In the picture below you can see a bird's eye view of Christ Church. It does give an idea of the size of the place. The main quad in the foreground is Tom Quad, the smaller one behind it being Peckwater Quad. On Peckwater's left you can just about make out Blueboar Qaud, which is a horrible sixties invention.
