When we the future (2nd to 4th) generations in Kum Yan look back at the difficult path which we have gone through, we can identify with the Israelites in their words: "If the Lord had not been on our side...."(Psalms 124:1-2). Surely if the Lord our God has not been on our side, we would not have made it through. Do you agree?

Beloved brothers and sisters, no matter when you had come to join this KY community, it was God's leading and not coincidence. Today, when we worship together, let every one of us spend some time in praying for our KY community: in thanksgiving, asking for forgiveness, and seeking God's will to be done in our midst. In addition, ask God to show you how you are to live, participate, learn and serve in Kum Yan. That we may in this year walk hand in hand to be mobilised together with the whole of Kum Yan.

Our Theme for 1997:

The Year Of Mobilisation

The Pastors have given us the direction for 1997. In 1996, under the direction of Prayer & Mission, some ministries and brothers & sisters have taken the steps to move out. They include mission trips, rallies, and the Woodlands Outreach work. It is time for every member in the whole Church to be mobilised. This is the vision for 1997!

Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.-- Matthew 11:28

For details of Attendance of First Half of 1997,

The idea to set up the Cantonese Methodist Kum Yan Church was first mooted in 1918 by a group of dedicated Christian brothers and sisters who were teachers from the then Yeung Ching High School ( ÑøÕýѧУ ), led by its Principal Mr Lam Yew Cheong ( ÁÖÒ«ÏèÏÈÉú) The target of this project was to preach God's Words to the cantonese community of Singapore who do not understand other languages or dialects except the Cantonese dialect at that time. Thus, from a humble beginning of holding Sunday worship at various borrowed venues to our present Church building, we have come a long way. Each step we take was blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ and through His guidance and providence, our congregation has multiplied by leaps and bounds. We will continue to strive harder in our outreach projects so that more lost souls will be saved, not only in Singapore, but also in the surrounding region. Let us pray collectively to have this vision realised as we bring glory to God our Father.

GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST AND PEACE TOWARDS MEN. ÈÙÒ«¹éì¶×î¸ßÉñ£¡

REMEMBER: The salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ for YOU is absolutely …….………Ask for it and it shall be given unto YOU!!

Please step into this unique elevator and we will bring you up to all the different floors housing different departments of our Church. Have a pleasant and God-blessed trip!

-- to Mansion's Hall -- to Church's Gate

This site is still under construction and in its initial stage. By the grace of God, it shall build up steadily. However, materials are required during this process. If any of you, as the children of God, can contribute to this worthy cause, please let me know. Thanking you in advance, may the good Lord bless you and His Church. Please send your contributions, in whatever form, to:
