CHRISTMAS OUTREACH
- At Queen Street:
- Cantonese Gospel Opera Outreach - 7.30 pm in
Church, Saturday 20th December.
Remember all the opera groups, as they prepare themselves with
intensive training and rehearsals. Ask for ready response to the
outreach from everyone in Church, no matter which worship service
we may attend.
- Christmas Combined Celebration Service - 10 am
on Sunday 21st December.
Give thanks to the Lord that the children attending B.A.S.C will
be joining in the celebration. Invitations will be sent to the
parents to attend. The children will be giving an item, along
with the Children's Worship. Intercede for the parents and friends
of members and the children, that they will come and join in the
celebration. Pray for Pastor Kan who will be giving the Christmas
message.
- At Civic Centre, Ngee Ann City - 7 pm on Sunday
21st December.
We join with other Methodist Churches to bring the joy of Christmas,
in our contribution of Cantonese gospel opera. Pray for God's
gracious hand upon the crowds as they hear the Christmas note
of hope and joy through carols, songs and hyms.
- At Woodlands - 3 pm on Saturday 20th
December.
Uphold the Woodlands committee, and MYF members. Pray for Cheryl
Leong who is co-ordinating the children's Christmas celebration
that afternoon. Ask God for the permission to be granted to use
the void deck of Block 342.
CANTONESE GOSPEL OPERA GROUP
Our brother Leong Yim Heng will be the new teacher of our Opera
Group. Pray for wisdom and God's anointing on him to lead the
group. The Group will also be electing a working committee to
work with the teacher. Pray that the Lord will lead dedicated
members to be in the committee. Pray that:-
- God will use this Opera Group to share the gospel,
- God will bless the outreach programme for Christmas,
- the committee will serve with vigor and perseverence, and
- there will be continued unity in the Group.
PRAYER REQUEST FOR CALOW LOW
Dear Brothers and Sisters-in-Christ,
Thanks for your prayerful support for sister Calow Low
Cheng Ann. She is feeling much better now and is back to her bubbly
self again. I'm so glad and thank the Lord that I can feel her
sense of humour through the emails that she had sent me. Keep
her in this state, Lord, for as long as she lives. Please continue
to pray for her health, strength and an answer to her plight.
You can find out more about her from this link.
MANDARIN WORSHIP SERVICE
- Cell Groups: Pray and ask the Lord for more leaders to lead
cell groups that we may have a wider coverage of members in cell
groups. Remember the present 2 cell groups: Queen Street and Choa
Chu Kang. Pray for the preparation of materials for the cell groups.
- Sunday School: Intercede for the teachers and that more classes
may be formed next year.
- New Believers: 3 new believers were baptised last Sunday,
praise be to the Lord. Intercede for them and another 2 new believers
as they seek the Lord, through prayers and His Word, and obeying
His commands.
LEADING FROM THE LORD FOR 1998
Waiting on the Lord, in crying out to Him:
- in repentence of our slowness in turning to Him for advice
or direction, and for not obeying His instructions,
- in affirmation of His faithfulness towards each of us, to
enable us to trust Him without hesitation and taking the direction
He sets before us,
- ask for courage and boldness to do all the things that He
wants us His church to do in His Name.
NOAH'S ARK OUTREACH WORK
This work in reaching out to non-Christian friends have
been on for one year. Every once in two months, an activity is
organised at Noah's Ark, Bugis Street where church members can
bring non-Christians.
Our brothers and sisters actively involved in this ministry
will be with us to share the develop-ment of this work and needs
as well. We will then intercede for them.
MARINE PARADE OUTREACH
Our brothers and sisters from this cell group have been
reaching out. These include leading a group of non-Christian Chinese
nationals in Bible Study, helping the destitute and old by going
to clean their flats and more. Our brother David Ang will share
and we can intercede for them.
The Pastoral team visited members of our Church who
are hospitalised or recuperating at home every week. Below is
the list of these Church members for the current week. Please
intercede and .......
