Syracuse
Welcome to the First Greek Settlement outside of Greece!!!
This city has been fortunate enough to survive the centuries (millenia) of erosion and horror, as it stands majestically over the Mediterranean Sea with ruins a plenty and tourist here all year round. The beautiful weather in Sicily has led to this place being very barren and very reminiscent of my days living in Phoenix, Arizona. Here's what I got to see:

These two views of Syracuse (Siracusa) should give you a look into the beauty of this part of the Mediterranean Sea. The sunsets here are great and I had a great time and found a really nice place to stay.
These last four pics show the historical side of Syracuse. The First is a pic of the Temple of Apollo, the Greek God of War. The second is a view into some of the ancient ruins located in the historical park. The third is the Orrechio di Dionysii (Ear of Dionysius). This cave was used by the Greek Emperor Dionysius to hold his prisoners. The saying goes that he spied on his captives to see what they were up to, since the cave is fairly acoustical and things can be heard at the entrance of the cave when the captives are at the rear. Lastly, we have the Greek Theater, which is embedded in the side of a hill, but must have been a great place to see shows and stuff.
Hope you all enjoyed this visit to Syracuse!!! See you soon.
