If Love Were Not

What would the world be like without... The element of love
... And what would be the meaning of... The moon and stars
above?... The fragrance of the flowers fair... That blossom in
the spring... And all the magic melodies... That birds and
lovers sing?... How could the grass be green again... Or chil-
dren laugh and play... Without affection of the heart... To
take the tears away?... Without a friendly smile or word... To
show we understand... And now and then the comfort of... A
kind and helping hand?... And how could life be worth the
while... Or any dream come true?... Unless I knew the ecstacy
... And joy of loving you?
