Gala 2001 Stage Door Canteen!
The Stage
Door Canteen celebrations of World War II sprung to life again Saturday
night when we hosted our annual Gala at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The
Moonlighters provided Big Band sounds throughout the evening, and
members sang and listened to vocalists perform music of the era. A trio
composed of Betty Woods, Patty Laramore and Lynn Hollingsworth sang
"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" as made famous by The Andrews Sisters.
The evening was also marked by the awarding of the Wight Scholarship and
the naming of an Outstanding Adan for the Arts.
