Welcome to The Slaton Cemetery
Here is the tombstone slab for JOHN SLATON. I tried to look inside from the crack on the left and could see a brick-lined space with no casket or body. But I couldn't see very well. I understand that other cemeteries in the area, including Daniel Pratt's, have been disturbed as well.
Another view. In the upper left corner is NANCY SLATON's tombstone which is in two pieces, courtesy of a vine that took a fancy to it and is now welded to the center of the stone. In the lower right corner is a part of the brick wall which surrounds the cemetery.

Carved on the top of Nancy's broken tombstone is a woman's hand holding a flower. This is no doubt in honor of Nancy's repute as an expert gardener. Eerily, though, it now looks as though Nancy's hand reaches up from her grave. Almost as a reminder to us descendants to weed her cemetery....
