As a part of the Wellspring path, participants are requested to have a "project." Not certain what this project was to be, I prayed on the matter. Repeatedly. And I came up with several answers. One of the first that came to mind was the formation of a legal society bound by voluntary vows to go above and beyond (literally) the Rules of Ethics that we as attorneys pledge to follow. As an example, as an attorney I am required to represent my clients zealously. As a family law attorney representing divorce clients, I witness how some attorneys turn that maxim to their client's short-term advantage, but with long-term ill effects on the family. It seemed to me that doing so kept the letter, but not the spirit of this "ethical" rule. Other attorneys agreed with me on this point, and they, too, suggested I start this group for attorneys.
