Please consider the following proposal:-
1. The East Rand Youth Orchestra become associated with the
Parent Orchestra (The ERYO exchange information with the
"parent orchestra" of the East Rand Youth Orchestra)
2. The Parent Orchestra sponsors two or more orchestra members to
"join" the Parent Orchestra for two or three weeks towards the end
of the year to experience the practice and performances in a major
orchestra, These orchestra members form the ERYO will spend this time
with the Parent Orchestra and participate in all the orchestra activities
(musical and admin.) and they will be able to bring back and share what
they have learnt in the Parent Orchestra to South Africa.
As the South African Rand is so week against the British Pound, sponsorship
from a British point if view would be very easy.
The ERYO and the Parent Orchestra could also be involved in tours of
South Africa for other youth orchestra. South Africa is a wonderful
country and needs exposure to youth orchestras from different countries.
If you do know of Youth Orchestras considering touring South Africa please
contact me and we can arrange some combined concerts and may be help in
the planning of their tours.
