Eugene Pook has established
a versatile performer as an orchestra soloist, symphonic player as well as a
conductor. As a clarinetist, his performances have brought unanimous
critical accolades and praise of his beauty of tone, brilliant technique and
artistry style and elegance.
In 1993, Eugene received scholarship to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada where he was awarded first-class honor on his graduation. In 1996 upon his graduation, he was employed by the Royal Concervatory of Music and the University of Settlement as an affilate and associate clarinet faculty. As an active chamber musician, Eugene was one of the founding member of the renowned Aubergein Woodwind Quintet in Toronto in which the quintet performed extinsively throughtout the city.
Eugene has studied with the
most distinguished conductors and clarinetists in Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong
and the United States. In addition, he has participated the Tanglewood
Conducting Class as well as the Master Players
Eugene has performed with
numerous orchestras as a conductor and clarinetist with the East York Symphony,
Hart House Orchestra, Toronto Chinese Orchestra, Royal Conservatory Orchestra
and many others. As a member of the International Clarinet Association, he
frequently participates conferences that take place all over the world.
Eugene has currently
received scholarship to study Master degree at the University of Missouri. In
this summer, Eugene has been selected to play with the American Wind Symphony
Orchestra for their 2000 summer tour in the United States and Canada for 3
months.
