The Bonny Pyrates - 08/23/00 02:06:45 | Comments: To her noble Majesty Queen Margaret, it is with much angst that the Bonny Pyrates beg of any assistance which her Grace may be able to render. Our vessel was caught in strange storm which forced us to take to the long boats abandoning ship. Captain Dame A felya stayed aboard refusing to leave the animals behind. The seas are calm now and we have searched for days but alas have found no signs of the Oblada, save for this journal page: I am completely alone onboard. I know not what has become of my crew, my goods, nor animals. In the midst of the storm I did witness strange flying lights and heard odd voices. It was as though time had raced, then slowed, leaving me abandoned in a surrea place. My throat is as dry as a desert storm. There is only a chalice filled with an odd blue glowing liquid to drink. As though from a dream I heard a meek voice: “A drink from me and thou shall see thy true form as ‘twas meant to be.” My true form? Dar I drink? I have a good heart, how bad could it be? What sweet, delicious elixir of which I cannot describe but for the quenching of my very being. I thirst no more. I feel gooood. My vision is changing…..I feel very light…..it appears as though something is growing from my back…..Ha! I’ll be buggered! I d believe I’m turning into a bloody faerie! Well I suppose things could be worse. I could’ve turned into a crass drunken Irish Rogue or worse yet a toad! Perhaps now I can at least fly over to yon island and seek assistance. |
Blackwolf the Dragonmaster, Duke of Spyre Green and Rhye - 06/20/00 18:52:53 My URL:http://www.oocities.org/blackbeardian/bwolfmain.html My Email:pirate1_power@hotmail.com | Comments: Greetings, Lords and Ladies of Hampton Court, and especially Your Majesties! Huzzah! I'd long hoped that the ruling Monarchs of the Shire of Waxahachie would have their very own Palace from which to rule; and you know, over the aeons, through all my travels, I've found that a King's castle is an astounding place --- never more so than when it makes a first impression on a visitor such as myself. That, Majesties, has certainly been the case here. Anyway, I, Blackwolf the Dragonmaster, Duke of Spyre Green and Rhye --- and best known as Unofficial Mage and Sorcerer-in-Residence of the City, County and Shire of New York --- would like to propose a humble toast to all who happily dwell hither at Hampton Court. Hopefully, when I have a spare minute, I shall link my Dark Chambers homepages to yours, that you may see for yourselves what I'm up to. So, that's that from me for now. Again, best wishes to each all --- and glorious Huzzah!'s on your witty individual self-descriptions. (They made me laugh immensely.) Long live King Henry VIII and Queen Anne Boleyn; and long live all the members of perhaps the jolliest Royal Court in the whole of what the Mortals call ye Olde Lone Starre Stayte! Huzzah! |

As I hold you in the highest regard, I deem it my duty to inform you of a fleet of ships which have taken to the seas in pursuit of priv teers. It is with much strife that I deliver this news, for my crewmen shall surely hang me from the rafters lest it be known. We are an unruly lot with nothing but the best of intentions. Simply to steal aboard under the cover of night and reclaim any bo ty that has been seized by privateers, to be returned to the rightful owners. I know not if your Grace shall be escorted by such, but I shall do my best to ensure that your booty is to remain unscathed shall you encounter our fleet. With utmost admiration your assured loving friend Ahfelya |
Queen Margaret of Scotland & the Isles - 03/08/00 18:01:32 My Email:redleopardess@mailcity.com | Comments: Well Lester, I applaud your ambition. To get a date with Queen Anne, you'd first have to ask her HUSBAND, King Henry, who rather frowns on his wife dating other men. Having been nursery mates with Hal, I can think of nothing more unpleasant than a large, edheaded Welshman landing on you with two hobnail-shod feet. I understand Queen Anne's sister, Mary Boleyn is otherwise unescorted though... Cheery bye! QM |

Susan Von Rudolph - 10/01/99 16:53:49 My Email:Susan@Heart.org | Comments: Hello Brian. My name is Susan Von Rudolph. I portray Grand Duchess Sabine Von Wurttemberg at Scarborough Fair. Janna Casstevens is correct about where we receive our information. You have to have a real love for the time period to do what we do. I've been studying Renn history for 25 years and not just the English. You had asked "What did Henry's marriage to Anne do to the rest of the Europe's monarchs. Well that's a loaded question. What country's view point are you interested in? Please feel free to contact me at my e-addy listed here. We'll discuss/converse till you can't take any more. |
Brian - 10/01/99 13:31:26 My Email:scoobydoo45@juno.com | Comments: Thank you for responding. The reason I was asking is becouse I am writing a fictial book about the reign of Henry VIII and Queen Anne and the effect it had on the nobility at the time, but I wanted the characters to be historical, but yet have fictional p rsonalities.I really apperciate all of the help you can give me. Thank you, Brian |

Queen Margaret of Scotland - 09/27/99 20:16:34 My URL:http://members.delphi.com/leopardmoon/index.html My Email:jannac@pwpl.com | Comments: Hello Brian... Thank you for asking about where we got our information. The actors who play the historic and fictional characters at Scarborough Faire have taken the historic facts that we know about them and blended them with our own unique lunacy, a sample of which e demonstrate on this website called Hampton Court. When we are at Scarborough Faire, the Renaissance Festival, we have to "live" the characters in such a way that they are not only very real and human, but entertaining. We spend the off-season from Sca borough studying historical books, films, websites, whatever we can get our hands on so that we can interpret history into life. To be sure, there are many fictional characters, but they are based on historical study. Crown Prince Hapnick is a fictional character, but he represents the 25% of 16th Century German royalty and nobility that was stark-raving nuts. Grand Duchess Sabine represents the other 75% that wasn't (oh by the way, Sabine was a real historical person, but there is very little info on ju t who she really was, so the actress has studied German women of that period for her interp of a German noble). Lady Monica Murray, while a fictional person, represents the status of Scottish nobility post-Flodden. If you would like more information on he actual historical figures, there are many sources to consult, including books like The Court of Henry VIII and A World Lit Only By Fire. Feel free to e mail us anytime with your questions. Sincerely, Janna Casstevens |

Her Imperial Highness, Grand Duchess Von Wurttemberg - 04/22/99 22:04:10 My Email:SusanR@herat.org | Comments: Most Happily Met Majesty, Queen Margaret of the Scotts. I wish to confer on you all mighty thanks and salutations. I have set mine own eyes on a "Scottsman" . Readily must I denounce all teachings which did prepare a princess of Bavarian birth. "Beastl is their bearing." was I so taught. "Crass of mouth and weak of limb", spat my tutors. "Stench like no other to be born." t'was the piture painted for these Imperial eyes. "NAY" Not one word be for sooth. This lady did indeed dance with several of y ur court and regiment. I find Scotsmen to be most polite, vivacious of voice, each with a well turned calf, dancers of high quality, and well armed (when occasion does arise.) We are well pleased with their unencumbered manner of dress. The freedom fr m under-garments, I'm told, keeps evil vapers from accumulating next to the skin and hence, they have no need for blood-letting. I abhor blood-letting and will post hast commit this wonderous fact to parchment. The Emperor will most assuedly wish all hi court to follow in like fashion. Many thanks, your Majesty.
