Report of the 52nd meeting;

Opening thought: by TM Ando
Sheintroduced the sentences from the toastmasters monthly magazine;
Stand up to be seen.
Speak up to be heard.
Wind up to be appreciated.

Table Topic session: by TM Osaki

 In the 21st century, there are some social phenomenons.
 - Mental and health care system for older generation
   The  population of older genereation become higher and higher.
   It becomes one of serious issues in the 21st centuery.
 - Environmental system against environmental pollution 
   For example; recycle shops may increase in future.   
 - The progress of computer technology, especially internet is common
   communication tool more and more.
   You may get groceries using electronic money on the internet.

Questions for discussion;
1. What kind of business will be major in the 21st century?
2. If you become the president of a company, what will you do? 
3. How will you spend your daily life in 21 century? 

TM Ota said that not material happiness but also mental happiness will become important.
Third world countries try to follow developed countries, environmental pollution will become 
serious issues,....
TM Kouno guessed internet business will be major. As the time with computer increases,
sport facilities such as fitness center and swimming pool will increase. When we start working
in our home using internet, we may get more free time. She's now taking adventage from internet
bookstore which company is trustworthy. 
TM Sato thought the life care for old aged people will be a big issue. 
Developed countries become high aged societies.Younger generation may support 
elderly people, what will happen? They will not have enough chance to engage
in a society.
 This century-the automobile age is over, next age will be the computer age?
TM Ando also pointed out creating jobs for elderly people become important.



Current Issue Session: "Summer change in Sapporo"
TM Komata chaired this session.
It's hot these days even here in Sapporo. People might say
"It's like in Tokyo. I want to keep turning on the air conditioner."

Qs;
1. Do you feel the changes of the summer in Sapporo?

2. If so, how was it changed? In terms of energy and effect to our life,
    is it a good trend or a bad trend?

3. For the future; how and what we can do.

Speech Session:
Ice Breaking Speech: by TM Ota
 TM Ota joined recently talked about her experience of Sweden
and introduced the Swedish poem that her nephew translated into English.
- Life is like a journey. But not to be anxious for.
Sometimes she remembers the poems amd makes them.
Although she's been studying Swedish for 12 years, she said that's hard to learned to.
If you have a chance to study new language, how about trying Swedish?

Prepared Speech: by TM Kouno
 For her second speech,TM Kouno introduced herself especially for studying English.
She was born in BIFUKA town north of NAYORO city, where the snow is deep. Soon her family
moved and she grew up in OTARU City, west of Sapporo, very famous marine transportation.
 Her dream was to be a good at English and made many efforts; listening to radio English
Conversation Programs, entered the university and went to the U.S.
 Before she left Japan, she had confidence in her English skills, but after arrived to 
the U.S., she said she couldn't understood other people's talk. She made efforts again!
 She's now working at the international exchange center of the university and communicating 
to foreign students.
 "Through toastmasters meetings, I think I can enhance myself, grow up, improve English
skills.", she concluded.
