Table Topic session by TM Kouno; "Prophesy of Nostradams"

According to his prophesy human supposed to be perished now, but the catastrophe didn't happen. This fact remind us how the ancient people faced to the catastrophe and overcame it. She proposed questions.
Q1. Do you believe in Nostradams?
TM Sado doesn't believe it since she doesn't know she has supposed to be in the future.
Q2. Why ancient culture disappeared?
TM Kouno wanted to know the reason; why the ancient culture which had the very high level culture disappeared.
TM Sato said that in Aztec calander, sometimes the God comes down to the earth. They believes superstition. So the ancient culture disappeared, he presumed. In history, people believed the superstition and lost the culture.
TM Konishi is looking forward to see the next millenium. How about you??

Current Issue Session by TM Ando; "Biotech Food Raises Questions."

"Genetically altered food", what is this all about? In Japan we hear this word these days, but we don't have enough information and don't know what they really are.
Europeans were the first to balk at buying biotech crops. In the US, biotech farmers are suffering the decrease of income. In Mexico, a major tortilla maker is avoiding altered corn. One U.S. processor has announced plans to pay a premium for conventional grain, while another company has told its suppliers to start separately storing conventional and biotech grain.
Biotech Food is one of the convenience for the human beings like a cow which produces lots of milk. If it is logically right, we have but to scare about it; limitaion of information and understandings.
Some supermarkets already started attatching the labels to Biotech Foods, for example, "This is not produced by gene combination soy beans.".
Mass media exaggerated the case? Anyway we shall have to see what will happen and protect our body by ourselves.

Prepared Speech by TM Wu; "Trip to Eastern Hokkaido"

TM Wu travelled DOTO (eastern Hokkaido area) this summer for three days. It is the first time for her to visit there. Of course she went there by car, with her friends. She met natural animals.
She drove around from central Hokkaido; Asahikawa city to north eastern part; Koshimizu town and Shiretoko peninsula. Drove several hundreds kilometers. There're lots of hot springs at that area, she took a natural hot bath. Bears are watching her take a bath? As she did camping, she tasted barbeque with nature. Having local food for lunch was also fun.
When she visited Lake MASHU, it was a fine weather. She was lucky to see the beatiful sapphire color lake water, mysterious!

Prepared Speech by TM Komata; "Hiking to Lake SHIKOTSU"

TM Komata went hiking to Lake SHIKOTSU this Sunday, 5th. It is a 36km hike from Makomanai to the lake. About 2000 people attended to this nice event. She brought a pamphlet of the hiking and showed a handwritten map by herself. It was the 2nd time for her to attend. This year, TM Konishi and one of her co-worker attended together.
The course consists of plain area and mountain range. In the morning, going along the cycling road with moderate speed. Taking lunch and rest at the 18km point, the course become upwards. It's like climbing mountain. You can see the beatutiful scenery from the mountain range of Mt. Eniwa. After the top, ups and downs several times, you notice yourself singing songs. So mamy elerly peple were attended and walking fast. The last 6km is downslope. It's no problem if you run.
Finally reached at the goal around 15:30 at the lakeside. You cannot take any prize since it was not the competition, promoting the attitude for your health.
She introduced the good points and bad points for this hike. Success; she changed the socks at lunch time, so she didn't have blister on her sole. Failure; She overdrunk water at lunch time, so her stomach felt full with water. Also wearing jogging shoes made her sole tired after 30km. From these points bear in mind, she'd like to challenge the next year's hike. Now considering how to keep body condition well.
How about you toastmasters, let's try next year!
