on Windows NT:

  1. Open regedit; go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE node.
  2. Delete the ORACLE key.
  3. Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE|odbc
  4. Click onto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services. Remove all keys under this branch that begin with 'Oracle'.
  5. Click onto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application. Remove all keys under this branch that begin with 'Oracle'.
  6. close regedit.
  7. From the Control Panel, open System.
  8. Remove the %ORACLE_HOME% path and JRE path. For example, you may see a similar path entry like i:\oracle\ora81\p2kcust\bin;G:\Program Files\Oracle\jre1.1.6.2o\bin;
  9. Reboot your machine.
  10. From Windows Explorer or a dos shell, delete your Oracle directory(Oracle Base).
  11. Delete :\Program Files\Oracle.
  12. Delete icons from :\Winnt\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Oracle - and :\winnt\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Oracle Installation Products, where is the previous HOME name.
