THIS PAGE IS DEDICATED TO MY FRIEND SHARON AND HER BIRD APRIL

When that April from her speckled egg
Didst seven years ago emerge
With verdant plumage, beak and leg
And with her mother, Sharon, life converge
Oh April! May your tribe increase!
But not too soon. Mother fears the word
Lest fast talking parrot, tempting fate
Enticing her with flamboyant tail piece
So truth will withhold until her darling bird
Has gained the age of twenty eight.
