Future events

FBQ will be appearing as guest artistes in the Howard Wallace Chorale 20th Anniversary Concert to be held at the Courage Hall, Brentwood on 22nd July.

FBQ are performing at Horncastle College, Lincolnshire, for a music school weekend course on 1st August. A full show is to be performed.

The KMT extravaganza - Millennium Madness

The annual spectacular was a stupendous success and gave the Mayor's charity a much needed boost. The Mayor's Appeal 1999/2000 is raising funds for the Redbridge Night Shelter for homeless people in the borough. The Mayor, Cllr. Filly Maravala, who was in attendance, met the group after the show to congratulate them, and was so impressed has offered his support in any way the he can.

Here's how the poster looked

The millennium prize draw featured some cool gifts, and also some less cool spoof prizes presented to the winners in jest.

1st Prize - Champagne Bag of Ice
2nd Prize - Box of Choccies Goldfish in a bag of water (actually a carrot)
3rd Prize - Record Token Signed football (by the Quintet, of course)

Just to remind you of some top moments -

Concert gets off to a spectacular start with Dave's arrangement of 633 Squadron, complete with fireworks and model planes.
Tony's rendition of Mozart's Alluluia as the special guest soprano Kiri Tin Can Opener wearing a lovely orange dress and ringlet wig.
Genuine special guest Michael Gray plays his violin beautifully only to have it snapped in half by the compere, Peter Mills.
A stunning double trumpet version by Tony of Jealousy by Gade. Tony and Martyn duel for the top notes in this latin groover.
The FBQ corps de ballet take the stage to Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours. Pink Tutus and white tights and 'lunchboxes' thrill the audience.
Tubist, Andy, whizzes around in a bee costume playing the Flight of the Bumble Bee.
All the way from the eastern bloc, come the Makeminer Double String Quartet who fool the audience with Bach's 'Air on a G String'.  You may have spotted that one of the quartets can't actually play stringed instruments.
Another mega blow out of hip 70's TV and Film tunes by Dave close the concert.
The encore sees the team in rockin' latin medley by Martin.

Bancrofts School

The FBQ Festival of Light saw the boys in action in a 'charity' concert on 16th October which also featured the local hero cornet player, Max Weaver, and musical turns from the school music department led by the music mistress, Debbie Mittel.  Star acts were the year 8 spoon ensemble and year 10 carpentry class.
