Sarah Buxton and Sean Kanan:
Biographies

These were taken from NBC online.

Sarah BuxtonSarah Buxton: Annie Douglas

Sarah Buxton plays the impulsive, unpredictable, and scheming Annie Douglas. The resident "poor little rich girl" on "Sunset Beach," Buxton has received critical acclaim for her work as a daytime drama villain.

When Buxton was 15, a Hollywood manager "discovered" her in a supermarket. Previously a gymnast and Olympic hopeful, Buxton was already familiar with the regimented schedule of rehearsal and thus made a smooth transition from one performing art to another.

Her first on-screen appearance was in a Coke commercial, and soon thereafter, she scored a role in the television pilot "Too Good to Be True." Her additional television credits include a small part on the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful as well as guest-starring roles on "Baywatch"; "Walker, Texas Ranger"; "Platypus Man"; "Diagnosis Murder"; and "Silk Stalkings." Buxton's feature-film credits include "The Climb" with John Hurt, a leading role in "Listen," and roles in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead," "Less Than Zero" and "The Sure Thing." She lives in Los Angeles. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga and making pottery. Her birthday is March 23.

Sean KananSean Kanan: Jude Cavanaugh

Sean Kanan plays "Jude Cavanaugh," a rich and mysterious playboy with a dubious past and a passion for only the best on SUNSET BEACH, the first daytime drama from executive producer Aaron Spelling on the NBC network. Kanan grew up in New Castle, PA, not far from the Amish communities. He avoided the stage in high school and instead tried his hand on stage at local comedy clubs. Eventually Kanan performed in such venues as The Comedy Store, The Improv, Dangerfield's, Catch a Rising Star, and The Funny Bone.

While a political science major at Boston University, he took extra-curricular acting classes and sought work on locally filmed television shows; he landed his first role in an episode of "Spenser for Hire." That taste was enough for Kanan, he transferred to UCLA and pursued acting full time. Kanan accumulated numerous credits including guest appearances on "Who's The Boss," "Step By Step," MTV's "Dead at 21," the Oliver Stone mini-series "Wild Palms" opposite Jim Belushi and Angie Dickinson, and, most recently Fran Drescher's 'younger man' on "The Nanny."

Kanan worked with the late Raymond Burr in two Perry Mason television movies, "The Case of the Maligned Mobster" and "The Case of the Killer Kiss." Sean has just completed two feature films. "Chaos Factor" is a political action thriller starring Kelly Rutherford, Fred Ward and Antonio Sabato,Jr. "Chump Change" is a romantic comedy in which he plays Corbin Bizarre, a slick talking BMW salesman with a high maintenance girlfriend and a serious gambling problem The film features a cameo by Robert Wagner ("The Spy Who Shagged Me.") Kanan is perhaps best known from his breakout role as Ralph Macchio's nemesis in "Karate Kid III." No stranger to daytime television, Kanan is well recognized as the wealthy "AJ Quartermaine" on ABC's award winning General Hospital.

Kanan now claims the stage, which he shunned in younger years, as his venue of choice. He debuted in the Los Angeles production of Irish Coffee at The Burbage Theater and he recently plalyed "Austin" in the Sam Shepard classicTrue West at The Zephyr Theater, also in Los Angeles. He starred in and produced the latter.

Kanan enjoys honing his martial arts skills and writing poetry, plays and screenplays. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife. His birthday is November 2.
