rosining a carbon fiber bow
I have found, and I believe it was mentioned here as well, some time back, that it is hard to "start" the rosin on a newly-rehaired carbon fiber bow. First, has anyone else had that experience? Second, why would the type of bow matter? Shouldn't it be just the hair that matters? I realized I really don't have a good point of comparison as I think only once have I had my wood bow rehaired that it didn't come back with powdered rosin on it.

The type of bow stick has no effect on this - only the hair.

The type of bow doesn't matter, although the Glasser bows seem to be known for having slick hair, initially - but it rosins up just fine.

It either takes more pressure on the rosin cake and more stroking - or filing some of the rosin to make a fine powder.

Personally, I just apply some pressure to the back of the hair to force it into the cake during the initial rosining and all problems are gone in a minute or so,
